Compare the section (tread) width between two tire sizes in mm and as a percentage difference.
Wider vs. Narrower Tires
Wider tires provide a larger contact patch, improving dry grip and braking. They also look more aggressive.
Narrower tires cut through standing water more effectively, reducing hydroplaning risk. They also have less rolling resistance.
A 10 mm difference (e.g., 225 to 235) is about 4.4% wider and is generally the smallest noticeable change.
