Tire Wear Calculator
Estimate how much tread life remains in your tires. Enter your current tread depth in 32nds of an inch (use a tread depth gauge or a quarter for measurement).
Tread Depth Guide
- 10/32" – 8/32": New tires — excellent traction in all conditions
- 7/32" – 5/32": Good — wet traction begins to reduce
- 4/32": Consider replacement — notably reduced wet grip
- 3/32": Replace soon — hydroplaning risk increases significantly
- 2/32": Legal minimum in most US states — REPLACE NOW
The Quarter Test
Insert a US quarter into the tread groove with Washington's head pointing down. If you can see the top of Washington's head, you have less than 4/32" — time to shop for new tires.
Insert a penny: if you can see Lincoln's head entirely, you're below 2/32" — replace immediately.
