Tire Sidewall Height Calculator

Calculate the sidewall height of a tire from its section width and aspect ratio. The sidewall height determines ride quality and handling characteristics.

How It Works

Formula

Sidewall Height (mm) = Width × Aspect Ratio ÷ 100

A 225/45 tire has a sidewall of 225 × 45 / 100 = 101.25 mm. Lower aspect ratios mean shorter, stiffer sidewalls which improve handling but reduce ride comfort.
